The Office of Internationalization provides leadership and support for the University of Denvers efforts to internationalize the curriculum and the campus. At DU, students and scholars from overseas are part of our community, and all of our faculty and students are encouraged to study, research, and offer service in a global context.
International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) supports internationalization at the University of Denver by serving as a resource to students, faculty, and staff in meeting the needs of the international community on campus through programming and immigration services.
Position Summary:
The International Student Advisor is a full-time non-exempt, benefited position and reports to the Director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).
The International Student Advisor advises international students on immigration status and regulations; cultural adjustment and academic culture; English language matters; financial issues; orienting to life in the U.S.; and navigating the campus and community. Serves as Designated School Official (DSO) and Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) and processes student requests for immigration benefits. The position serves as back up to the Sr. Advisor and SEVIS Coordinator for the universitys reporting and compliance with U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Department of State (DOS) requirements.
The International Student Advisor supports the International Community and Programming Coordinator (ICPC) to issue immigration documents to newly admitted international students and with social and cultural programming and orientation. The position works with international student groups to develop leadership and capacity.

Salary Grade Number:
The salary grade for the position is 7.
Hourly Range:
The hourly range for this position is $23.00 – $26.50.
The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
