The Opportunity
The School of Visual Arts and Design (SVAD), in the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month non-tenure earning lecturer in studio art foundations. The anticipated start date is August 8, 2024.
The selected candidate will teach four courses per semester. The teaching duties will focus on foundations courses with an emphasis in 2-dimensional and 3-dimensional design, with opportunities for teaching in other areas. The candidate will actively engage in committee service, maintain regular office hours, develop curriculum, participate in campus and community life, and other collective initiatives. SVAD seeks a candidate that is passionate about advancing art foundations through course and curricular development, student mentorship, and active scholarship.

Minimum Qualifications:
A terminal MFA degree from an accredited institution, 2 years of college-level teaching experience, and an active creative practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates should be able to design and deliver studio art foundation courses, demonstrate outstanding skills with a strong grounding in formal design principles, and critiquing skills, have evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to think and write critically about art, and lastly demonstrate strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
