Job Summary
Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and organizational policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions. Contacts are both internal and external to the department.
Reporting to the Director of Finance in the School of Nursing’s Dean’s Office, the Financial Analyst holds a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity and support of decision-making processes for four academic departments and an organized research unit (ORU).
The position is a member of the Budget and Financial Analysis team of the Finance Hub in the Dean’s Office and provides budget development, financial review and monitoring of resources, analysis of financial variances, projections of revenues and expenses, and regular financial reporting.
The position is responsible for revenues and expense allocations, personnel funding distributions and financial transactions for the units under management.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.
