Job Summary
The Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion for FAS (Finance and Administrative Services) represents the Senior Vice Chancellor and drives strategic initiatives for Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEIA), as well as the UCSF anti-racism (AR) initiative across FAS departments. This position partners with the FAS Executive Team, the DEIA-AR Steering Committee, and all levels of the organization to ensure the successful development and execution of initiatives, programs, and business priorities. The primary goal is to embed diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility principles throughout FAS and its culture, policies, and practices.

The Executive Director of Diversity and Inclusion reports to the Senior Vice Chancellor, Finance and Administration, and serves as a member of the FAS Executive Team. This position leads the FAS DEIA-AR Steering Committee as the co-Chair, collaborating with representatives from each FAS department.

Please note: The compensation ranges listed online for roles not covered by a bargaining unit agreement are very wide, however a job offer will typically fall in the range of 80% – 120% of the established mid-point. An offer will take into consideration the experience of the final candidate AND the current salary level of individuals working at UCSF in a similar role.
For roles covered by a bargaining unit agreement, there will be specific rules about where a new hire would be placed on the range.

Department Description
The Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor (SVC) functions as the control point overseeing the accountability and effective management of Financial and Administrative Services (FAS). The Office of the SVC partners with the Finance Service Center and FAS departments to assure resources and attention are aligned with UCSF’s strategic priorities while safeguarding University assets and public trust.
The FAS portfolio is comprised of eight primary central departments and 2,500 employees serving both Health and Campus, including UCSF Finance, UCSF Real Estate, Campus Life Services, UCSF Human Resources, UCSF Information Technology, UCSF Police Department, UCSF Program Management Office, and Audit and Advisory Services.
