DESCRIPTION
UCSD Health Sciences is a $1 billion dollar plus organization encompassing
16 academic departments (14 clinical, 2 basic sciences), 2 pre academic/hospital departments, 2 professional schools (School of Medicine and
SkaggsSchool of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences), 2 hospitals, and various other programs and units all dedicated towards fulfilling
the Health Sciences missions.
The Department of Pathology plays a key role in the University’s three missions. It aims to achieve
the highest standards in patient care, research and education. The Department provides diagnostic pathology services in a wide variety of
subspecialties with highly trained subspecialists who are recognized for their expertise. The Department’s research programs are diverse and
interface with a wealth of basic and translational research programs that are a hallmark of UC San Diego.
This position will provide
administrative operations for two Centers housed in the Department of Pathology: the Center for Perinatal Discovery (CPD) and the Center for
Transplantation Science (CTS). Under supervision, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting faculty and clinical research
coordinators involved in activities of both Centers. Responsibilities include: maintaining relationships with Center-affiliated research
coordinators, ordering supplies and tracking expenses; reimbursements; travel; assist with transportation of biospecimens between clinical
and research sites, as well as shipping to collaborators; providing administrative assistance to Center leadership and committees for
organization of operational meetings, monthly and annual symposia, as well as advertising of sponsored events and studies.
The
Operations Analyst will maintain professional relationships throughout the campus and external parties. The incumbent uses skills as an
experienced administrative operations professional to manage, plan and administer the operations of the two Centers. Incumbent must use
professional concepts to apply organization policies and procedures to oversee a variety of ongoing administrative operational issues.
Administers defined operational program. Analyzes and resolves operational problems of moderate scope.

Annual Full Pay Range: $63,580 – $98,282 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job

may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining
agreements (when applicable).
