Position Description:
Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) serves as the campus community mental health center for students. The mission of Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is to support undergraduate, graduate and professional school student development, empowerment and success through connection with dedicated diverse staff who provide mental health services that encourage Health, Healing, and Hope. CAPS strives to provide:
1. Short-term, high-quality culturally affirming mental health treatment including assessment, consultation and case management; group and individual therapy; and psychiatry services
2. Culturally responsive community mental health training and wellness education in collaboration with the Resilience in your Student Experience (RISE) Center
3. Training and professional development for mental health providers that emphasizes inclusive support and care for diverse clients
4. Connection to diverse community resources and referrals.
Under general supervision of the Director or designee, support the mission of Counseling and Psychological Services, as well as the UCLA Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and the University in providing the highest quality mental health services for the wide range of students at UCLA. This position will serve as a dual report to Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Department of Athletics. This position is designed to support the mental health and well-being of student-athletes.
This position will perform a wide range of complex tasks including counseling and psychotherapy with student-athletes; consultation, outreach, prevention and mental health education on campus; emergency services; supervision. The incumbent will ccept overall direction from the Director of Athletics and CAPS, or designee, and participates in meetings, committees and carry out necessary charting and data requirements. Act in a manner consistent with the APA code of ethics.
Special Instructions:
The budgeted hiring salary/target range for this position is the posted minimum to $10,220.05 monthly, with salary placement based on skills, knowledge, and experience.
