Summary of Job Duties:The instructor shall be responsible to the Dean of Science, Technology, & Mathematics. Courses taught may include: Intro to CAD & Surveying Software, AutoCAD, Plane Surveying, Boundary Surveying, or other related courses.
This position will start in January 2024 for the Spring 2024 semester.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
*Teach classes as assigned by the appropriate Academic Dean. Faculty teach approximately 15 credit hours each semester. Faculty conduct class for the full duration of each scheduled class period.
*Maintaining office hours up to 15 hours a week to assure availability to students. The instructor’s scheduled time on campus should total to a minimum of 30 hours per week.
*Serving as advisor for students assigned to the instructor. This includes meeting with students to determine schedules, planning course of study to assure student can graduate in a timely manner, and referring student to the proper personnel for counseling, financial aid, etc.
*Maintain skills and knowledge within his or her area. Faculty will attend required professional development activities on campus and can attend activities off campus.
*Maintain updated documents and grades in the current LMS as directed, and submit grades in a timely manner as required by the Registrar’s Office.
*Insure that a syllabus for each course taught is on file in the office of the appropriate Academic Dean and that any revisions made are on file.
*Review and select the textbooks and/or other materials for their assigned course(s) as required.
*Attending functions at the college as requested by administrative officers (graduation, open house, etc.).
*Cooperate with the Advisory Committee for his or her program (if applicable) and incorporate feedback as appropriate.
*Demonstrate consistent professionalism and commitment to working cooperatively with all campus personnel to fulfill the Mission of the College..
*Complete all required reports, including but not limited to the Departmental Assessment Report and Faculty Self-Evaluation, within the prescribed time frame.
*Other duties as assigned by the Dean and/or Vice Chancellor for Academics.Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess an Associate’s credential in a relevant field
Five years of relevant work-related experience in the field
Holds a valid State of Arkansas Surveyor Intern (SI) license
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Practical experience teaching in a Higher Education setting
Possess a Bachelor’s credential in a relevant field
Holds a valid State of Arkansas Professional Surveyor (PS) license

Salary Information:
Commensurate with education and experience.
