Summary of Job Duties:The Facility Coordinator will assist in the day-to-day operations of the Donna Axum and UREC Fitness Centers as well as the HPER Natatorium. The position is responsible for hiring, training, and management of over 60 student employees in the areas of risk management, customer service, supervision, financial transaction processing, and facility inspections within the fitness center and aquatic spaces. This position is also responsible for the hiring, training, and management of swim lesson instructors. Additionally, this position is responsible for budget management including the two fitness center spaces and the swim lesson program. Assists with pool operations including swim meet management (aquatic reservations/events). Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in recreation, sport management, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher
education
At least one year experience in recreation, collegiate/recreational sports, gym, or fitness center operations
Supervision of part-time staff
Preferred Qualifications:
A master’s degree in recreation, sport management, higher education, or related field from an accredited institution of higher
education
At least two-years’ experience in recreation, collegiate/recreational sports, gym or fitness center operations
Experience with pool operations
Water Safety Instructor certified
Lifeguard certified
Additional Information:
Salary Information:
$38,000 – $42,000 (commensurate with education and experience)
