The Benefit Manager at Koch Companies is responsible for the overall management and administration of all employee, fully funded and self-funded benefit plans for all divisions of Koch; roughly 1600 employees. You will stay abreast of benefit trends and company goals to develop and recommend benefit plans and policies, keeping Koch’s benefits competitive. You will partner with the HR Director on wellness and benefit strategic initiatives, while coaching, managing, and supporting the Benefit Specialist.
What does the rest of the job look like? Well, you:

• Ensure corporate compliance as related to the benefit plans and oversee monthly reconciliation and audit of plan enrollment leading to approval of bills for payment
• Serve as primary contact for broker, plan vendors and third-party administrators
• Configure HRIS for accurate enrollment options, payroll deductions, and file feeds to vendors
• Serve as contact for employees with escalated or complex benefit issues and research/respond to employee concerns, complaints or grievances as they relate to benefit plans
• Manage and coordinate the annual Open Enrollment process including but not limited to finalizing plans and contracts, system pricing and plan updates, employee meetings and presentations, materials, enrollments and vendor updates

So what do we think you need to be successful?

• 5+years benefit administration and management
• 2+years working with self-funded medical plan

• Possesses a superior technical knowledge of the workings of group insurance plans – plan documents, summary plan descriptions and other insurance mechanisms.

• Current and working knowledge of employment laws, benefit design/implementation, ADA, ACA, COBRA, FMLA, and HIPPA
• Various retirement plan approaches including 401(k) and non-qualified plans.
• Business acumen, strategic thinking, and ability to partner with leadership
• Proficient in HRIS systems; UKG experience preferred
• Effective communicator, both written and verbal, while maintaining confidentiality and handling confidential documents and issues
• Super helpful if you have over a year working with employee benefits nationwide!
• Must have post-secondary education of some kind in HR or related field

We’d really like you to have:

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field, or equivalent
• Certified Employee Benefits Specialist certification
