Position Summary
This position, under the direction of the Chief Compliance Officer, plans, develops, implements and manages the daily activities of the Privacy, Title IX, and Civil Rights Compliance Programs, ensuring all regulations are met through training, oversight, policies, procedures, investigation, monitoring, conducting ongoing risk assessments, and other compliance program elements. This role is also responsible for the oversight of the Compliance Department training, education, and professional development activities and promoting a culture of compliance at UH. The Director, Compliance Programs also serves as the UH Privacy Officer. The person who fills this role is expected to independently handle a broad range of matters relating to compliance operations, including providing compliance advice and guidance to internal clients; ensuring UH’s compliance with legal/regulatory requirements; conducting and overseeing compliance investigations; responding to regulatory inquiries; drafting, reviewing and revising internal UH policies; creating and directing the development of effective compliance training programs; and developing internal and external reports. This person will supervise compliance staff and outside consultants (when retained).
Essential Functions
* Execute annual training calendars and ensure training is completed by appropriate personnel with respect to the Code of Conduct and other compliance-related topics.
* Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer and department team members to develop and deliver annual compliance and ethics education to the UH Boards of Directors.
* Establish communications that inform stakeholders about compliance requirements, including execution of an annual communication calendar.
