Under the supervision of the Dean, provides a wide variety of complex and responsible administrative support services for full-time faculty and staff and adjunct instructors in the Division of Manufacturing and Maintenance interprets operating policies, and administers duties in a capacity that necessitates independent judgment. Maintains the Division’s course scheduling and instructor database. Handles multiple projects simultaneously. This is a critical position for the division, as the primary contact this position serves as a liaison with other divisions, other colleges, students, faculty members, and the community.
Minimum and Additional Requirements
This position requires a high school diploma and work experience that is directly related to the area of employment. Bachelor’s degree may be substituted for the related work experience. Preferred candidate will have a bachelor’s degree plus one (1) year related work experience; or, an associate degree plus three (3) years related work experience; or, high school diploma plus five (5) years related work experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Individual is expected to be knowledgeable of institutional guidelines for completing and submitting necessary contracts and support documentation for full-time and adjunct instructors, part-time positions, workforce training and work-study students. Individual is expected to display self-direction, leadership, cooperation and initiative. Individual must be able to work effectively with administrative support staff, academic deans, department heads, coordinators and faculty across all campuses. Must be organized and detail-oriented. Must have ability to train other employees and exercise judgment and discretion in interpreting and applying policies & procedures. Initiate and complete duties and special assignments with limited supervision. Exercise discretion, sound judgment and professionalism.
Must maintain confidentiality. Must be able to function in an environment characterized by continual changes in information technology. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential. Position requires the operation of office equipment, the distribution and collection of documents and other items around campus. Must be able to manage multiple priorities and willing to be flexible to meet the extended hours of operation during peak periods.
