Provide academic advising with caseloads ranging from 250-300 students. Teach students how to develop and maintain an individualized academic plan using tools such as a Degree Completion Plan (DCP), Academic Requirements, Transcripts, and university catalog. Conduct group advising sessions at varying stages of the student’s education on topics relevant at that point in time. Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records. Serve as a liaison between students and academic departments as well as university resources (i.e. Accessibility and Disability, Financial Aid). Maintain an updated understanding of the curriculum within the college and its programs.
Support students in navigating their internship search. Lead small group sessions with targeted students on topics relevant to their internship search process. Maintain an understanding of current standards with NACE and other affiliates regarding internship best practices. Assist students in developing connections on and off campus to broaden their network.Attend and participate in college and university events centered around student recruitment and retention. Support the department in preparing documents for incoming transfer students and present/attend Transfer Orientation in January and June/July annually. Present at Open House, a recruitment event targeting high school juniors and transfer students. Participate in all college-wide employer recruitment events (one Career Fair each semester and an annual Accounting Open House). Provide additional support to the department, dean’s office and/or university when needed.Support the department administratively, when needed. Answer phone calls and direct students to appropriate departments when needed. Manage an online chat (approximately 3 hours per week). Respond to emails in a timely and accurate manner (may be responsible to managing a department-wide mail drop in addition to personal email). Perform other duties as assigned. Support other team members with projects on an as needed basis. Participate in Professional Development workshops, webinars, trainings as assigned.
