Description of Work:
The Counseling and School Psychology Clinic (CSPC) invites applications for a postdoctoral fellowship position starting August 12, 2024. The CSPC is a training clinic within the Department of Educational Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). The CSPC offers an array of psychological services to support the mental health, behavioral health, and emotional health of children, adolescents, and adults. We strive to provide culturally responsive and evidence-based services in a safe and affirming space. Our therapeutic, assessment, outreach, and educational programs are delivered in a caring and compassionate manner that values the unique characteristics and lived experiences of individuals and their families. We are seeking a postdoctoral fellow who will be committed to providing care that advances health equity and accessibility for clients in rural communities.
The postdoctoral fellow’s work will be housed in the CSPC in Lincoln, Nebraska, as they will be engaged in all aspects of clinical outpatient services within the clinic. They will be primarily specializing in providing care to rural populations, including in-person and telehealth therapy and assessment services. The position will also include travel to surrounding rural communities, as there will be opportunities to provide supportive outreach services (e.g., workshops, trainings) to rural communities and schools. The postdoctoral fellow would also be providing supervision of graduate students in training, within the Counseling Psychology and School Psychology programs, to support their clinical growth and development. The postdoctoral fellow will receive valuable supervised clinical and supervision experience and accrue substantial hours towards licensure in our training clinic. Opportunities for involvement in teaching and/or research may also be available, depending on the interests of the postdoctoral fellow.
A typical week will include 20-24 hours of direct clinic service (i.e., outpatient therapy and assessment services), 4-6 hours of supervision of doctoral students in Counseling Psychology and School Psychology programs, 1 hour of individual supervision with the Clinic Director, and approximately 10 hours of Flex Time to be used for case management, outreach, research, and professional development opportunities. The postdoctoral fellow will have a dedicated office space.
