Minimum Qualifications:
Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, formal training programs, or on-the-job training. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

7 years of related maintenance experience.
Position Summary:
This position will supervise day to day operation activities of maintenance staff. It will also be responsible for work order system, distribution, and data keeping.
This position involves use of a P-CARD.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:
Responsible for contractor coordination and also will be needed to conduct maintenance duties along side other mechanics.
Physical Demands:
Lift 50 lbs. and work under various climate conditions. Driving as needed to perform job related duties.

Duties/Responsibilities:
General Maintenance Operation Repairs and Installations
Serve as a lead mechanic and assist with and perform maintenance to include fabrication, preventive maintenance, facility repairs and renovations, and grounds maintenance as needed. Position will require a P-Card and be responsible for ordering parts and supplies required for the maintenance needs of SREL and its mechanics. This position will also use this card for maintaining parts and supply inventories and will purchase tools and any required fabrication items required to meet work order requests.

Duties/Responsibilities:
Maintenance Work Order System Management
Responsible for oversight and management of the new SREL electronic work order system. This position will receive all work requests and be responsible for distributing them to the proper maintenance personnel and then contacting the requestor and informing them of the work request status. This position will also monitor work request completion and timeliness, as well as requestor satisfaction. It is anticipated that our unit will generate initially 150-225 work requests annually.

Equipment and Facility Preventive Maintenance
Maintain the existing preventive maintenance database and distribute preventive maintenance work orders to the mechanics to ensure that facility assets receive the proper scheduled maintenance. This position will add new assets to the database and remove any excessed or discarded assets. This preventive maintenance database will include automotive pool assets, equipment assets (tractors, implements, lawnmowers, etc.), boats, and facility assets (fume hoods, motors, HVAC, etc.). This database currently includes over 745 assets.

Supervise the day-to-day activities of the SREL maintenance group. This will include assigning tasks to maintenance personnel and ensuring that assigned tasks are performed in a timely manner. This position will also be needed to guide and enforce all the prescribed safety policies and protocols that the SREL maintenance group is expected to adhere to. This position will determine work schedules for the group and approve leave and monitor attendance. This position will also be responsible for maintaining all the required training that is needed for maintenance personnel.
