Minimum Qualifications:
Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicant is competent with word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, and virtual meeting software. Applicant has experience with budgeting, database management, and project management. Ideal candidate would also have experience in adult education with an emphasis on forestry, logging operations, and/or forest certification.
Position Summary:
This is a professional position responsible for assisting the Director of the Center for Forest Business in coordinating and implementing the contract with the Georgia Forestry Association, Inc. to conduct the Sustainable Forestry Initiative Program in Georgia. The position is based on the Athens campus.

The Public Service Professional AD serves as the primary representative for programs that provide outreach and educational services to a variety of clientele. Responsibilities include ensuring program schedules are met, guidelines are adhered to, and the program performs well. Responsibilities also include serving as program liaison between potential or current program participants and the general public and reporting on program success through multiple mediums to appropriate governing bodies. The Public Service Professional AD typically reports to an individual in a Research and Public Service Manager or an Administrative Unit Head role and may occasionally supervise individuals within the Research & Public Service job category.

Maintain Georgia logger education program to include Georgia Master Timber Harvester (MTH) initial training, Continuing Logger Education (CLE), logger and forester training data base and issue periodic MTH/CLE cards.
