Job Summary: Under general supervision, the Student Life Specialist I is responsible for the administration of one or more Student Life program(s). Serves as liaison between the program and other departments or the community. Position may supervise staff or students.
Additional Department Summary: The Student Conduct Investigator investigates and adjudicates cases brought before the Office of Student Conduct. Promotes accountability by providing assistance to the student non-academic misconduct system consistent with the policies in the Student Handbook, the Code of Student Conduct and the Residential Life Handbook, as well as other published University non-academic rules, regulations, and policies. Assists in the investigation and adjudication of behavioral misconduct cases for student organizations and individuals. Monitors compliance. Instructs alleged violator(s) and organization advisors on procedures for the stages in the discipline process. Strengthens partnerships by assignment to various task forces, standing and ad hoc committees, and interaction with various University and off-campus entities. Completes required training and promoting a safe, hospitable, and respectful workplace.
Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or higher.

Ability to deal objectively and tactfully with sensitive, confidential disciplinary issues. Ability to communicate and deal effectively with students, faculty, and administrative personnel. Superior organizational abilities and critical thinking skill. Knowledge of personal computers, standard software programs, and web development technologies.

Preferred Qualifications: Investigation and adjudication experience in higher education with behavioral and non-academic misconduct. Experience working with student organizations in a conduct setting, familiarity with Maxient conduct database management system.
Bachelor’s Degree and two (2) years of experience working in investigation and adjudication experience in higher education or inter-national fraternity or sorority organization with behavioral and non-academic misconduct; OR a Master’s degree and one (1) year of experience working in investigation and adjudication experience in higher education or inter-national fraternity or sorority organization with behavioral and non-academic misconduct.
