Pay Grade/Pay Range: Based on Qualifications

Department/Organization: 208301 – Biomedical Sciences

Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional evenings and weekends.

Job Summary: Supports the overall development of the research project. Assists with project design, management, and implementation. Promotes the project and serves as liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. Position may also supervise students, provide general office assistance, create promotional materials, and assist in the development of other potential projects.

Additional Department Summary: The Project Coordinator supports the overall goals and objectives of multiple externally-funded projects for the Kumar Lab and CCHS Biomedical Sciences. Assists with project design, management and implementation. Ensures day-to-day operations of research projects are completed according to the guidelines and timelines. Partners with the Project Investigators to achieve the goals of the grant and to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Provides input in the development of the program plan and objectives with responsibility for achieving objectives within defined parameters. Serves as the liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. Assists with the development and writing of grant proposals and other scholarly works. Supervises research technicians, patient navigators, and student learners. Oversees long-range planning, budgeting, networking and public relations, technical training and assistance, and report writing. Serves as the point person building and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external constituents for the research programs. Communicates and coordinates with multiple state and national agencies, universities, federal funding agencies.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and one year of experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Strong organizational skills. Ability to prioritize, manage details, and meet strict deadlines. Ability to maintain accurate documentation and update records in a timely manner. Ability to work independently within the assigned scope of work, identifying and performing a wide variety of activities that require the use of independent judgment, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. Ability to anticipate and plan proactively for known deadlines and annual cycles. Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to cultivate effective partnerships. Strong leadership, facilitation, and collaboration skills. Ability to demonstrate tact, versatility, and adaptability. Working knowledge of standard office software applications, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in health administration, business, healthcare, or communications preferred. Previous experience working in a healthcare and or higher education environment.
