Job Summary: The Audio Visual Integration Specialist III develops proprietary control system programs and graphical user interfaces for integrated audio visual systems. Coordinates and supports the overall design and installation of these systems across campus. Serves as advanced level technical support for UA faculty, staff and other AVS technicians. Manages projects or particular project tasks related to programming development and AV system design. Mentors and trains less experienced AVS staff and student workers.
Additional Department Summary: The AV Integration Specialist III will work with a team to provide special event technical planning, setup, support, and teardown. Accomplishes advanced AV systems work. Commissions and installs AV Systems. Troubleshoots complex system issues. Designs AV System design. Provides emergency/on-call support for major events or issues. Provides technical and advanced level expertise in planning, developing, installing, testing, programming, training, and documenting integrated AV solutions for a wide range of room types (offices, conference rooms, training rooms, presentation spaces, etc.). Works with staff and end-users in the performance of duties as a representative of the department. Maintains accurate inventory utilizing an inventory management system for hardware, software, warranties, and service agreements. Serves as the primary backup to the A/V Integration Specialist Senior. Provides Tier 1 support for ITAS recording studio and teaching innovation lab AV issues.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and five (5) years of audio visual installation and/or programming experience; OR Associate’s degree and three (3) years of audio visual installation and/or programming experience; OR Bachelor’s degree and one (1) year of audio visual installation and/or programming experience. May require system specific training or certification.
Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of customer service principles. Knowledge of project lead principles. Excellent communication skills with end-users.
Preferred Qualifications: A+, CTS, and other industry certifications (Crestron). Experience with video conferencing systems and equipment. Experience with the use of ticketing software. Experience troubleshooting windows based systems. Experience with basic IT network troubleshooting.
