Job Summary: The Associate Research Professional should show a high level of achievement and impact as appropriate for the position’s duties. Oversees research projects and assumes responsibility for the day-to-day activity supporting the project. Contributes significantly to the planning and design of research and creative projects. May assist in both short-term and long-term planning and project goals, as well as in research and creative proposals and dissemination of project findings. Additional Department Summary: The Alabama Mobility & Power (AMP) Center Consortium Development Manager will recruit, coordinate, and support the growth of AMP’s industry consortium members to ensure the consortium is successful and sustainable, which requires fostering collaboration among diverse stakeholders, pooling resources, and expertise to tackle shared challenges. Vital for the Center’s longevity, the Consortium Development Manager will recruit and retain consortium members, as well as enlarge the prospect base, with the ability to strategically plan and track expansion. Maintaining and developing staff scaled appropriately with consortium membership growth is imperative. The Consortium Development Manager will establish and foster the development of a capable staff, comprised of skilled professionals with domain knowledge, visionary leadership, and adaptability.
Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Relevant bachelor’s degree and at least four years of related experience in strategic planning and proficiency in prospect expansion in diverse environments.
Must have valid U.S. driver’s license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.
Skills and Knowledge: Strategic planning; firm understanding of economic development and manufacturing; managing projects; meeting deadlines; prospecting; exceptional management skills; leading project teams; staff recruitment and development; and history of learning and utilizing new tools and techniques to improve workplace efficiency and marketing return on investment.
Preferred Qualifications: At least four years of experience in economic development in the state of Alabama. Experience with outreach into new and expanding industry.
