Required Qualifications (as evidenced by an attached resume):
Bachelor’s degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related field. Two (2) years of full-time experience utilizing finance and budgeting principles, practices, and systems, including forecasting and reporting techniques.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience generating reports in a database program (i.e., Microsoft Excel, Google Apps, etc.). Experience working with ERP systems finance and/or human capital management.
Brief Description of Duties:
The Budget and Reporting Analyst provides professional level and complex budget forecasting, reporting and in-depth analyses associated with the planning, development and maintenance of the Advancement’s and the Stony Brook Foundation’s operating budgets. The incumbent will be responsible for the application of advanced budget analysis techniques to support annual operating budget, strategic and operational planning and forecasting and will resolve a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways.
Under general direction, the incumbent processes allocations and expenditures for Advancement’s all-funds budget and provides analysis, reports and recommendations on a variety of complex, campus-wide issues, focusing on the resource needs of Advancement, the Stony Brook Foundation and the university. This position will work closely with the University Budget Office, the Stony Brook Foundation Business Office and the Research Foundation Business Office.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. This is a full-time appointment. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption.
