Job Description
As a member of the Physician & Faculty recruitment team for the Wexner Medical Center and The Ohio State College of Medicine, the recruiter is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives to successfully recruit researchers, PhD’s and healthcare faculty. Working closely with department leaders and administration, the recruiter will gain understanding of the business and its strategic goals. The recruiter will partner with the departments to execute short-term and long-term recruitment initiatives, lead sourcing efforts and complete the in-system hiring process.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Meets regularly with hiring department leaders to identify and develop recruitment strategies based upon forecasted needs
• Sources candidates using standard and innovative sourcing techniques, including an in house ATS system and multiple recruitment platforms
• Screens and interviews candidates
• Attends appropriate conferences and other recruitment events
• Identifies and develops relationships with resources within the community that represent potential recruitment pools
• Develops and maintains an effective working knowledge of the OSUCOM and OAA employment process, offer packages, compensation and benefits to answer candidate questions as needed
• Assists with developing and implementing diversity recruitment initiatives
• Assists with the development of marketing and advertising strategies to enhance faculty recruitment
• Makes initial contact with potential applicants to discuss OSUCOM opportunities
• Develops and maintain relationships with departmental and institutional leadership to ensure exceptional service at all times
• Assists with on-site candidate visits as needed
• Meets with hiring department leaders and Administrators regarding recruitment services and determining scope of services and prerequisites
• Monitor routing and distribution of signed agreements and amendments
• Serves as source of recruitment information for internal customers (i.e. changes and trends in industry, salary data, recruitment activity)
• Develops and maintains working knowledge of the health system, college, and regional communities in order to assist with candidate inquiries
• Maintains a recruitment tracking spreadsheet for all recruitment activity, and provides bi-weekly updates to internal customers
• Attends recruitment meetings; may give presentations
• Assists with candidate interview process, as needed to include telephone coordination and confirmation with both the candidate and the internal customers
• Ensures use of current collateral materials for faculty recruitment at the department level
• Works with departments to assist the marketing, regional development and faculty recruitment teams to maintain a high impact talent management website and database
• Continually develops and improves upon processes, procedures, policies and techniques to recruit faculty. Maintains up to date knowledge and compliance with federal and state fair employment laws and guidelines
• Assists with the documentation needed for the completion of the pre-employment process, as needed. This may include but is not limited to references, background check, license verification and other screening as needed
• Participates in other duties and responsibilities as assigned in order to recruit and retain faculty members
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor degree – comparable years’ experience may be considered
4+ years’ experience in research, PhD and/or faculty recruitment
Proficiency with comprehensive applicant tracking and sourcing systems
Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to successfully multitask with attention to detail
Experience recruiting in a multi-disciplinary environment
Outstanding organizational, documentation, and follow-up skills
Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to professionally interact
with all levels of the organization
