The Learning Community is an affirmative action, equal opportunity employer.Position Responsibilities?Reports to & collaborates with Literacy Coordinator and Multilingual Learner (MLL) Coordinator?Works with a collaborative team of reading and ELL/MLL teachers?Create and/or contribute to Personalized Literacy Plans aligned to school, teacher, and student needs.?Provide direct literacy and language intervention support to individuals and small groups.?Ensure effective and aligned implementation of curricula and research and monitor to ensure that high quality curricular products are put in front of students.?Review data as a means of informing planning and supporting teachers to make informed decisions to drive student achievement.?Actively monitor student progress and makes instructional decisions based on student achievement data.?Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of student progress connected to learning goals.Candidate Qualities Maintains current knowledge of literacy research, high-quality curriculum & instructional resources.Demonstrates reflective practices and a willingness to improve their own performance. Understands the role of formative & summative assessment data in planning for tiered instruction for all students.Strong content knowledge and familiarity with Common Core Standards.Maintains high expectations & positive regard for all students and staff.Collaborates with team members to create and maintain inclusive, supportive, and responsive learning environments.Demonstrates an understanding and/or willingness to learn about and act on social issues that affect students (race, class, ability status, etc.).Experience working with ELL/MLL population preferred.Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.Your cover letter should include 1) your beliefs about the purpose of education and b) how your professional dispositions and practices are aligned with your beliefs.
