POSITION SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a strategic business marketing advisor aligned to Evernorth, Cigna’s Health Services business segment, with a focus on building and elevating strategic partnerships. This role requires business-to-business (B2B) marketing strategy, message development (platform and selling messages), product marketing, and campaign development experience. The ideal candidate will exhibit proven ability to develop a comprehensive message and marketing strategic framework to connect product and sales initiatives to enterprise goals, with specific experience working cross-functionally to enable sales teams to deliver growth.
Candidate will partner with their leader and capability centers in marketing strategy development across a suite of solutions in collaboration with product, sales enablement, sales, account management, and other cross-functional partners. To succeed in this role the candidate must possess strong ability to navigate change in a complex matrixed environment, be comfortable challenging the status quo, and translate business objectives into sound B2B and occasionally B2B2C marketing strategies and plans informed by stakeholder insights and differentiated from the competition.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop a strong understanding of client and buyers’ unique challenges and opportunities and position solutions to address key problems to solve.
Work with Sr. Advisor to build and execute end-to-end business-to-business marketing campaigns, projects and programs
Translate complex and diverse subject matter into compelling ideas and messages that address client needs.
Partner with marketing leaders and capability centers (brand, creative services, paid/owned/social and marketing operations) to execute comprehensive marketing campaigns, through strategic positioning, market messaging, client-facing sales enablement tools and other B2B marketing communications.
Identify, develop and execute B2B and B2C (via B2B2C or DTC) tactics to support successful solution introduction, enhancements and ongoing client/customer engagement priorities.
Mobilize and direct expertise across marketing capability centers and orchestrate end to end marketing plans to drive growth, adoption, retention and optimal customer and client experience – across all stages of lifecycle, across all pertinent audiences and channels.
Build effective plans and strong value proposition articulation and tools ( show don’t tell ) to enable sales and account management partners
Cross functional/matrix management with strong ability to influence others and create accountability to achieve Evernorth business goals and marketing objectives.
Collaborate with peers to manage department/team priorities and work flow to support collective business needs.
IDEAL CANDIDATES WILL OFFER:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or other discipline, Master’s is desirable
5-7+ years of marketing and business strategy experience, must have both business to business and direct to consumer experience.
Strong Modern Marketer: ability to understand and grasp marketing strategy and approach, leverage data and insights to inform strategy and recommended approach, link business need to action, understand how to leverage digital tactics/channels to execute marketing strategy.
Excellent storyteller with an ability to create simple and differentiated messages and pull through marketing tactics.
Strong writer
Health care industry experience strongly preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills: role does require writing and editing of market-facing collateral and communications.
Ability to work effectively in dynamic, rapidly changing, team-based environment across multiple functions and in support of diverse buyers and geographies.
Critical thinker and creative problem solver, who exercises good judgment in resolving difficult situations, prioritizes and can balance needs with enterprise objectives
Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline-driven environment, and juggle multiple, sometimes competing, priorities and requirements
Previous experience working with and briefing internal creative teams or outside agencies.
Experience executing strategy within timeline, budget and quality standards
Travel required occasionally (less than 10%).
