Position Description
Performs professional level work at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center by conducting classes on a per-course or limited-term basis, without any guarantee of continuing employment. Responsibilities encompass the coordination and instruction of one or more courses within a prescribed curriculum. Teachers in this classification usually specialize in the academic subject, professional discipline or technical skill being taught at the time of employment. Work is performed under general supervision with evaluation based upon results obtained. May supervise subordinate employees assigned to area of responsibility.

Major/Essential Functions

• Contributes to the university’s mission (through teaching, research and service,) through development of essential curricula for the Community Health Worker Training Program
• Prepares and delivers lectures, as needed, to students in the Community Health Worker Training Program
• Stimulates class discussions in the Community Health Worker Training Program
• May compile bibliographies of specialized materials for outside reading assignments in the Community Health Worker Training Program
• May compile, administer, and grade examinations or assign this work to others in the Community Health Worker Training Program
