The School of Engineering at Texas A&M International University invites applications for a
one-year Visiting Assistant/Associate Professor of Computer Engineering position for the 2022-2023 academic year. The candidate will
primarily teach courses in the Computer Engineering program which was established in Spring 2021 and has thriving enrollment. The program is
looking for candidates who have a robust commitment to undergraduate engineering education.
Required
Qualifications:
Successful candidates must have a Ph.D. Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely
related discipline. Applicants close to finishing a Ph.D. will be considered if their degree completion is prior to the start of the
2022-2023 academic year.
Successful candidates at the Visiting Assistant Professor rank must be able to teach Computer Engineering
topics such as Analog and Digital Electronic Circuit Design, Microprocessor Systems, Electronic Devices and Applications, Signals and
Systems, Computer Security, Computer Engineering Design, and lower-level general engineering courses. They must also possess the ability to
mentor and advise students working on Senior Design projects and undergraduate research activities.
Successful candidates at the
Visiting Associate Professor rank must possess demonstrable experience in teaching the topics required by the position, a significant track
record of advising students on senior design projects and research activities, and an ability to teach an interdisciplinary cutting-edge
Special Topics course for Computer Engineering and Systems Engineering seniors. They must also possess intermediate-to-strong knowledge of
the ABET accreditation process.
