Temple University Beasley School of Law is seeking a Senior Applications Developer full-stack to lead the design, development, and maintenance of multiple websites, design and implement on-line solutions, and administrative applications for the law school. In addition, this position will support and assist the Marketing and Communications team in using technology to develop marketing strategies and implement campaigns.
The Senior Applications Developer will work closely with stakeholders, graphic designers, junior developers, the law school’s marketing and communications team, University partners, and 3rd party vendors to identify requirements, design, test, and implement CMS-powered websites and custom applications that are useful, on-brand, accessible, and easy to use. The Senior Applications Developer is also responsible for documentation and training of users in these applications.
Successful candidates will be curious, self-motivated, creative problem solvers with an ability to quickly understand and adopt new technologies and tools along with the ability to manage and direct multiple projects and staff at the same time. In addition, strong interpersonal skills and communication will be essential.
This position will report to the Assistant Dean for IT and will support the team in creating WordPress/Drupal sites using the latest best practices in user experience, accessibility and coding standards. The Sr. Software Developer will also communicate with faculty and staff to gather requirements and troubleshoot issues and provide technical support regarding web-based applications issues. Required Education & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and at least 2 years of related technical experience.
Experience developing responsive web-based applications using the Javas, .Net, PHP, or other modern programming languages experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills & Abilities:
* Basic knowledge of backend and frontend development tools:
* Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX and/or open-source web application frameworks.
* Understand basic principles of responsive web design, user experience, and accessibility.
* Basic working knowledge of creating and modifying database objects
* Ability to problem solve while understanding and adopting new technologies and tools.
* Ability to build relationships with clients; know how to collect requirements and document-use cases and processes.
* Take the initiative to learn the environment, understand the tech stack, internal ITS process, and procedures.
* Ability to apply time management skills and manage your own projects with minimal supervision.
* Strong interpersonal skills along with the ability to effectively communicate with diverse groups of individuals.
* Ability to work nights and/or weekends, as necessary.

This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
