POSITION:
System Administrator
POSITION PURPOSE: The Systems Administrator (SA) is responsible for effective provisioning, installation/configuration, operation, and maintenance of systems hardware and software and related infrastructure. This individual ensures that system hardware, operating systems, software systems, and related procedures adhere to organizational standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Administration
· Install new/rebuild existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements.
· Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures.
· Contribute to and maintain system standards.
· Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage our resources and provide economies of scale.
· Manage VMware/SAN/Windows Server datacenter.
· Review and manages policies used in managing all Windows Infrastructure.
· Provide all levels of support for MIS issues.
· Manage and contribute to infrastructure projects.
· Complete miscellaneous MIS tasks as directed by IT Management.
· Assist in network planning and administration.
· Backup, replication, and recovery testing of the Windows environment.
· Documentation of system/application deployment/changes.
· Troubleshoot basic network issues LAN/WAN.
· This position entails systems administration tasks (Windows Server, AD, MS Exchange, SQL Server, SCCM) and a networking tasks (Cisco equipment).
· Project Management experience a plus
Operations and Support
· Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
· Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
· Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
· Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
· Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
Maintenance
· Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary.
· Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
· Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
· Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
· Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.
Required Experience
· Bachelor’s degree preferred (Computer Science or Information Technology).
· Minimum 5-7 years of experience in IT as a Systems Administrator.
· Strong written and oral communication skills as well as strong customer service abilities.
· Adept at reading, writing, and interpreting technical documentation and procedure manuals.
· Ability to conduct research into software issues and products as required.
· Strong working knowledge of local area and wide area network (LAN/WAN) administration.
· Working knowledge of telecommunication technology and systems.
· Knowledge of virtual computing environments, i.e., VMware, HyperV, etc.
· Technical certification in Microsoft, VMWare, or Cisco technologies, preferred
· Networking experience with Cisco ASA’s/Routers a plus
· Server Monitoring and troubleshooting.

Pay: $72,000.00 – $88,000.00 per year
