What We Offer
Earn your Initial Teaching License through the Teach Western Mass Residency in one year. The Teach Western Mass Residency is an accelerated training and licensure program—approved by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education—that gives aspiring teachers from all backgrounds the chance to lead a classroom while receiving significant support toward earning Massachusetts certification. Certification is offered in Moderate Disabilities K-12 (Special Education), English as a Second Language K-12, and Middle School Math.
Start your coursework independently in the Spring, begin full-time training in June 2023, and receive individualized coaching throughout your first year in the classroom. You will receive support from your TWM coach, the Residency team, and a tightly-knit cohort of your peers as you complete your coursework and teaching experience.
No previous teaching or student-facing experience needed to apply.
Program Tuition
Tuition for the 2023-24 school year is $9,000, which may be paid out through the course of the year, once you have secured a full-time teaching position with a Teach Western Mass partner school.
