SCCC is an accredited, comprehensive two-year community college that sits on 167 beautiful acres with three ponds and
12 academic buildings. A short distance from the main campus is the SCCC McGuire Technical Education Center located on Main Street in
Newton, NJ. Additionally, a satellite location is located at Vernon High School in Vernon, NJ.

Position Overview
Sussex County Community College is seeking a highly qualified, enthusiastic and
student-focused full -time tenure track Math faculty member who represents a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarly activity,
and will support the value of diversity, equity and inclusion to the College. The successful candidate will be a demonstrable expert in
their area, interested in advancing both their expertise and the discipline by being an active professional in the national landscape of
math-education scholars. The successful candidate will have experience in and a strong desire to teach developmental math and college level
liberal arts classes in-person (face-to-face), on-campus. The candidate will have demonstrated strategies to help students succeed in
developmental and liberal arts math classes, with a philosophy that supports students “where they are at.” Each semester load will consist
of a minimum of 15 credit hours plus additional time dedicated to office hours and providing student support. Duties and expectations of
this position include the following: excellence in teaching and using the Canvas learning management system; developing and supporting the
math curricula; ensuring course assessment; undertaking professional development; applying the College’s strategic plan; continuing service
to the College; student advisement and retention efforts; scholarly activity, and taking leadership roles when assigned. The successful
candidate will contribute to the service of the college by serving on committees, collaborating with faculty and other college colleagues on
college initiatives, and being a dedicated team player within the STEM department. All of the above are considered essential to the success
of the position
