The Career Development Center (CDC) is a centralized career services office serving SIUE students and alumni. The CDC helps students make the most of their education and prepare for a successful career. We offer a variety of services and resources designed to help students explore their options, discover their interests and get the experience they need to be successful after graduation.
The Career Development Center is excited to announce the opening for an Office Support Associate to play a key role in the ongoing success of our students and alumni.
The Office Support Associate serves as the primary receptionist for the Career Development Center by greeting office visitors, answering telephone calls, answering general departmental questions, responding to departmental email account inquiries, making appointments and resolving scheduling conflicts.
This position also serves as primary clerical support for Employer Relations through data entry of Career Fair registrations, processing payments, managing interview schedules, employer events, job postings, and correspondence and technical assistance for employers and students.
The Office Support Associate also serves as primary clerical support for the Co-op/Internship Program managing job postings, data entry of Experiential Learning records, database maintenance, resume referrals, correspondence and technical assistance for employers and students.
Other duties may be assigned based on the needs and goals of the unit. The Office Support Associate is a highly visible role within the Career Development Center. Employee will work with all levels of administration, faculty, staff and visitors, as well as our student population, and will be expected to provide professional and courteous customer service to all guests. A.) College coursework in any curriculum as measured by the following conversion table or its proportional equivalent:
-30 semester hours equals one (1) year (12 months)
-Associate’s Degree (60 semester hours) equals eighteen months (18 months)
B.) Work experience performing office/clerical activities, including the use of computer systems.
