The Phoenix office of SmithGroupis looking for aProject Accounting Supervisorto join our team.The ideal candidate can work from either of the two location, Dallas or Phoenix.

Working with us you will:

• Support an operational unit by working with the office/regional accounting manager performing mid-level accounting duties in support of various project accounting and client billing activities.
• Supervise the project accountant(s), overseeing the complete support of the project lifecycle including monitoring of workloads.
• Work closely with project teams in support of the project lifecycle.
• Train or continually develop project accountant(s) including best practices, systems (ERP system, Teams, SG Online), process improvement, project analysis, project reviews, AP and expense processing.
• Prepare, analyze, and present management reports primarily regarding project performance, but may include office or region profit and loss analytics.
• Assist the regional/office accounting manager in budgeting and forecasting and support monthly analysis including full P & L for the office/region.
• Work in the office as needed to supervise the team, interact with Project Managers and DOO’s, and execute accounting functions.

An ideal candidate has:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5 – 10 years or related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• A solid understanding of accounting concepts.
• The ability to prioritize and multi-task, work independently and pay attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas in a simple, clear manner.
• The ability to work in a team environment.
