Job Summary
The Supervisor – Janitorial is responsible for performing custodial duties, general direction for custodial crew(s), scheduling of custodial crew(s) minor maintenance and other miscellaneous duties in order to ensure that the facilities are maintained in a healthy, safe, and sanitary manner. The majority of their daily activities will be hands-on working. May at times provide leadership/guidance to the custodians in the absence of the Assistant Project Manager.

While performing the duties of this job the incumbent will have to sit, stand and or walk for the majority of the shift. The incumbent is required to regularly talk or hear while fulfilling the duties of the job. The incumbent may have to lift up to 20 pounds regularly and push and or pull carts with up to 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
The incumbent works on a daily basis with dangerous and toxic cleaning products that can be very harmful to one’s health if not properly utilized. The incumbent also regularly cleans up blood, saliva and other bodily fluids that are unpleasant to deal with. The condition of washrooms is often unpleasant.
