The Gig: Little Wing and Rookies Instructor for preschool and elementary age students.

• School of Rock Little Wing Program: Encourages 4-5 year olds to reach their developmental milestones through fun musical activities. The classes were designed to inspire the social and cognitive development of a child while enriching their language, literacy, and physical development through the use of rock music. The School of Rock Little Wing Music Instructor leads each Little Wing session with the goal of creating a warm, supportive and inspiring environment for young musicians.
• School of Rock Rookies Program: Inspires students 6-8 years old who aren’t sure what instrument they want to play or aren’t quite ready for private lessons. These action packed classes teach young rockers about pitch, rhythm, and musical teamwork through a combination of fun music based activities and group rehearsal of simple rock songs. Rookies students get the experience of playing all the major rock instruments such as Guitar, Bass, Drums, Keys and Vocals, while developing a core understanding of, confidence in, and love for music.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparing and providing activities for all Little Wing and Rookies classes
• Provide a high energy experience while demonstrating a positive command of the rehearsal room and students
• Lead each class in a fun and engaging manner to keep the participants moving through the educational programs.
• Have a strong rapport with young kids and be capable of communicating students’ musical progress to their parents.

Skill Requirements:

• Multi-instrumentalist – Must be able to teach the basics on Guitar, Bass, Keys, Drums and Vocals.
• Enthusiastic with high energy, yet persistently calm and patient when dealing with kids and parents.
• Happy person with a positive demeanor; someone who smiles often.
• Experience working with and leading groups of children under the age of 8.
• Must be an organized person who exudes enthusiasm and commitment to providing high quality music education to children under the age of 8.
• Educational credits in early childhood development is a plus but not required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $21.00 per hour
