INTERNAL AUDITOR – PHOENIX, AZ (HYBRID)

Sares Regis Group is seeking an experienced Accountant for our corporate office in Phoenix, AZ! The Internal Auditor will be expected to monitor the company’s internal control and risk management activities by conducting operational audits, assisting with special projects, and serving as an advisor to management regarding internal control design, process improvement, and other consultative and investigative efforts. This position would interface with all levels of management and work closely with all departments and external parties.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Analyzes data obtained for evidence of deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures.

• Conducts special studies for management such as those required to discover mechanics of detected fraud and to develop controls for fraud prevention.

• Conclude upon audit results, communicating verbally and in written reports, ensuring conclusions are factual, accurate, and complete.

• Conducts financial, operational and compliance internal audits as assigned.

• Travel to various communities to conduct on-site operational audits.

• Update and maintain audit tracking systems.

• Assist with special investigations, department initiatives, facilitation of co-sourced audit activities, and other special projects, as requested.

• Identifies opportunities and areas for improvement, and offers suggestions and/or implements procedures, processes, or tools that improve efficiency and productivity.

• Assumes and performs other tasks as directed by any person authorized to give such instructions or assignments.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or similar field.

• 2-3+ years relevant experience in internal audit and/or auditing, property management preferred.

• Certifications desirable or actively pursuing: CPA, CIA or CISA.

• Fair Housing knowledge.

• Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Other Qualifications:

• Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis; additional hours and or some travel may be required.

• Demonstrated proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and property management (e.g., Yardi, PayScan, MRI, One Site) programs to complete required reports.

• Comprehensive knowledge of professional standards, audit methodologies and tools that support audit processes.

• Possess a high degree of integrity and confidentiality based on exposure to personal and confidential information. Ability to always maintain strict confidentiality.

• Working knowledge of email, Microsoft Word, and Excel.

Salary is TBD. We offer a competitive compensation package that includes a 401(K) match, rental discounts depending on location, rental incentive and renewal compensation, and bonuses. Regular full time employees who work between 30-40 hours a week are eligible for medical, dental, vision, other voluntary benefits and vacation accrual. Sick time accrual is provided in accordance with law.
