Position Summary
Under the direction of the Marketing Coordinator and Associate Director for Communications and Strategic Initiatives, the Graphic Designer is responsible for assisting in the creation and implementation of designs across a range of digital and print media.
This position requires responsibility for day-to-day graphic operations. Projects may include printed materials, digital campaigns, email campaigns, website development and compliance, presentations, infographics, templates, event management support, and aiding with other communications and marketing needs.
This is a full-time (1.0 time-base), benefits eligible, permanent/probationary position. This position is designated non-exempt under FLSA and is eligible for overtime compensation. Standard SDSU work hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., but may vary based on operational needs.
This position is approved for partial telecommuting with onsite work in San Diego.
Department Summary
The Office of Housing Administration (OHA) is a self-funded operation responsible for planning, providing, and administering housing operations, services, and facilities with over 100 employees and over 150 student assistants with an annual operating budget exceeding $136,000,000. OHA provides housing for over 8,500 students in 25 communities with over 2 million sq. ft. of residential facilities. The OHA manages the operation of residence halls, apartments, and conference and event spaces. The OHA supports the educational mission of the Residential Education Office (REO) while providing business operations for all housing-related functions in support of a quality environment to enhance the student educational experience.

Education and Experience
Entry to the first level within this classification requires foundation knowledge in the principles and techniques of artistic and graphic design as well as demonstrated design and artistic skills. This knowledge and skill normally is obtained through a college degree in graphic design, fine arts, or a related field or through technical experience and/or relevant coursework. In addition, strong communication skills and the ability to use and maintain currency with applicable computer software packages and systems are essential to entering this classification.

Compensation and Benefits
Starting salary upon appointment is not expected to exceed $3,681 per month.
Salary placement is determined by the education, experience, and qualifications the candidate brings to the position, internal equity, and the hiring department’s fiscal resources.

CSU Classification Salary Range: $3,681 – $6,243 per month.
