Lifesharing is a residential setting in which a “host” family with AN INCLUSIVE MIND and WELCOMING HEART, share their life and home with an individual with an intellectual developmental disability and/or autism.
RHD Lifesharing specializes in creating an environment that empowers individuals with IDD or Autism through the development of skills and coordination of resources, in accordance with ODP’s Philosophy of Everyday Lives and Person-Centered Practices.
Regions: Northeast PA, including, but not limited to, Lehigh, Northampton, Carbon, Monroe, and Pike counties
Responsibilities/Duties
Lifesharing Providers assist individuals in the development of skills, activities of daily life (ADLs), and by the promotion of healthy relationships and community inclusiveness
Complete regular documentation in compliance with state regulatory standards
Adhere to individual’s rights & choice, to support each individual through their Individual Support Plan
Schedule, attend, and collect documentation for all medical appointments with individuals
Compliance with physical site requirements, as outlined PA Chapter 6500 regulations, including separate bedroom for individual and provisions of items outlined within program Room & Board policies
Work in conjunction with assigned RHD Lifesharing program’s program specialist and individual’s supports coordinator
Required Experience
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Valid vehicle/homeowners/renter’s insurance.
Criminal clearances and physicals for all persons living in the household.
Experience supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred, but NOT required.
Minimum of 24-hours of annual trainings.

Program Summary
This posting is for an INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR, NOT AN EMPLOYEE. Current RHD employees are not eligible for position.
*If approved by program*, RHD Lifesharing provides assistance and on-going support to qualified applicants in becoming and remaining a successful lifesharing provider.
On- call support is provided to Lifesharing providers/caregivers.
Compensation up to $3200.00 tax-free stipend per individual, based upon individual’s support needs assessment.
