This position is a key leader on the Account core team who is responsible for ensuring quality delivery of Facility Management Operations while supporting the Project Management, and Occupancy Planning functions. This individual will ensure all contract deliverables are met or exceeded, including operational up time, cost savings initiatives, energy consumption reduction initiatives, and service improvements and introduction of best practices and innovations.
Summary
The Jones Lang LaSalle Regional Facilities Director will assume responsibility for managing all Facilities and Real Estate related activities within a given Geographic Region while also being accountable for creating and developing an environment/culture that enables the hospital(s) to meet and/or exceed their mission and site objectives. Services managed include but are not limited to:
Plant Engineering
Project Management (Capital/Small Projects)
Environmental Services
Linen and Laundry
Security
Landscape/Grounds
Compliance (Survey readiness)
Financial stewardess
Responsibilities
Uses discretion and independent judgment to organize and direct plant operations within a Geographic Region. Determines schedules, sequences and assignments for work activities, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel.
Responsible for ensuring that all building systems and equipment are installed and maintained in accordance with manufactures recommendations- CMS-Joint Commission standards and all other applicable State/Federal/Local regulatory requirements.
Provides leadership in supporting development of performance standards for all Departments/Services Managed.
Responsible for annual budget creations, financial management and maneuver through financial system.
Ensures compliance and achievement of all enterprise standards
Responsibility for regional financial performance to include but not limited to: monitoring and controlling resource utilization and expenditures while ensuring adherence to established operating budgets.
Directs and manages completion and archiving of PM/CM equipment maintenance and testing documentation.
Conduct facility tours and create site trip reports and plan of corrections.
Supervises, trains and coaches staff in approved practices and procedures related to proper facility maintenance techniques.
Implementation and observance of all approved safety procedures ensuring compliance with established protocols.
Participates and Consults with internal Hospital staff with regard to facility planning, design and construction.
Forecasts and develops annual Facility capital equipment/physical plant project budgets.
Participates in the development of 3/5/10 Year Capital Project Plans.
Manages, coordinates and ensures resolution to all documented Facility Incident reports.
Generates/Coordinates response to facility concerns and/or grievances by patients, physicians and staff.
Conducts performance appraisals, oversight of maintaining time and attendance records and handles disciplinary problems for all Regional staff.
Manages/Supervises work of contractors in Facilities/locations.
Maintains positive relationships with all departments to ensure Facility/Building service needs are met and/or exceeded.
Uses CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to facilitate and manage internal work assignments and flow along with Compliance ATG management system.
Conducts periodic inspections of buildings while evaluating the complexity of any needed repairs to ensure resolution for identified problem/issues/concerns.
Manage/oversee daily EVS Operations to include but not limited to In-Patient-Out-Patient area cleaning, Bio-Hazardous/Hazardous Waste Management
Manage/oversee Security Operations
Safety/Security, Plant/Site Security and Incident Investigations.
Manage/oversee daily Landscape/Grounds Operations to include but not limited to Grounds Maintenance (Mowing, Pruning, Planting, Fertilizing) and Parking Lot Maintenance (Sweeping).
Creates annual Individual Performance Management Program (IPMP) templates in conjunction with Human Resources for all direct reports. Ensures that IPMP program is completed specific to Human Resources requirements.
Maintains strong internal Account relationships in the areas of Projects/Capital Management, QA-Performance Management, HR, and Sourcing.
Ensures the creation of a safe work environment for staff by ensuring adherence to all safety/infection control policies and procedures/practices to include but not limited to the wearing of appropriate protective clothing and gear and the proper handling of contaminated equipment and tools ICRA’s and ILSM’s
Attend periodically in Hospital Sponsored committee meetings (Infection Control/Safety/Quality)
Qualifications
BS Degree or Engineering or related degree preferred.
Minimum 5 years Hospital/Healthcare Facilities Management is required.
5 years industry experience either in the corporate environment, third party service provider or as a consultant preferred
Joint Commission Survey and CMS Survey Experience at the Hospital level. Fully knowledgeable of activities necessary to produce a state of perpetual readiness at all hospitals in the portfolio
Strong organizational and management skills
Excellent interpersonal and supervisory skills
Experience in matrix management
Excellent interpersonal skills and experience leading/managing a large, complex and geographically dispersed team.
Strong verbal and written (report) communications skills; superior presentation skills.
Strong judgment, problem-solving and crisis management
Technically proficient in operations of Building Management Systems, Life Safety Systems, CMMS, Microsoft Office, Power Point, Visio and Microsoft Outlook software.
50% travel (1-2 weeks per month)
