Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Vice President of Student Success and Partnerships, the Student Wellness Counselor serves supports student wellness and counseling services, with a specific focus on student mental health. The incumbent will also work alongside the Student Program and Wellness Coach at the College to support students’ needs. The Wellness Counselor is responsible for providing in-person, virtual, and on-call assistance for students in need. The incumbent will meet individually with students to provide non-academic support related to a student’s transition to college, mental health and wellness, social and emotional support, and other barriers to student success.

Requirements:
EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s Degree required. Licensure in Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or Licensure in Mental Health Clinician (LMHC) also required. Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Higher Education Administration, and/or Student Affairs strongly preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a professional in social work or mental health counseling; experience in an educational setting preferred; demonstrated interest and dedication to working with a diverse student body; demonstrated ability to think creatively to develop services; strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as organizational skills are required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None.
TRAVEL: Occasional local travel including between our campuses may be required.
