TECHNOLOGY SUPPORT SPECIALIST
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The IT Support Specialist provides technical assistance for a broad range of technologies employed by PACS in the conduct of its business. This role involves monitoring the operational stability of PACS computer equipment, network operations and telecommunications devices and services. The IT Support Specialist is the primary technical resource for all PACS computer system users and PACS clients who access information online via the PACS Web Portals. Core Competencies include:
Technical Knowledge & Responsibilities
· Installs, maintains and troubleshoots PACS computer systems and related hardware. Monitors the condition and age of computer equipment and recommends upgrades or replacements.
· Investigates hardware problems and performs minor system hardware and communication connection repairs or component replacements.
· Maintains user accounts, email accounts and instruct and/or assist new users in usage.
· Installs, maintains and configures operating system software as needed for the intended usage.
· Installs and configures application software and assists users in usage.
· Implements utility software as necessary for backup, security or other functions necessary to secure or enhance systems operationally.
· Maintains an inventory database of PACS installed equipment with information concerning age, configuration, location/user and other pertinent data.
· Collects information on trouble and assistance calls to establish patterns of frequent occurrences.
· Aids users in resolving problems involving program intent, input/output requirements and other procedural and technical matters.
· Uses Support Center software as applicable in carrying out duties described above including publishing an ongoing “Knowledge Base” for user self-help, instructions and communicating policy.
· Performs other administrative and general duties as assigned and may be called upon to provide IT related assistance outside normal business hours.
· Knowledge of Information Technology systems, methodology and practices.
· Use documentation available to continually enhance your knowledge.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. 0 – 3 years (preferred)of experience in PC hardware installation, repair, testing, and troubleshooting.
2. Certifications (preferred) from CompTIA, MTA, or other industry certification.
3. At least 2+ years of experience with current Microsoft operating systems and Microsoft Office components.
4. Working knowledge of server administration, Active Directory, Exchange Server and networks.
5. Possess excellent written & verbal communications. Can support end user’s in a production environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to lift from floor to waist up to 20 pounds.
· Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.
· Must be able to give and receive verbal and written instructions.
· Must possess the ability to utilize visual and auditory senses to complete all job duties as assigned.
· Must be able to work in a typical office and healthcare environment.
The IT Support Specialist is an exempt position.
