Our ideal candidate has strong communication skills, both written and verbal, as well as excellent situational awareness. We need someone who can remain calm in high-pressure situations, and understands the importance of verbal de-escalation. We are seeking guards that we are proud of, as they interact with the public daily as our representatives.
Responsibilities
Surveillance – Patrol the grounds or buildings as assigned, regularly. If suspicious activity is detected, refer to the local authorities. Review surveillance cameras and monitor crowds as needed. Establish and review the identification required to enter the building or property. Verify all doors, windows and gates are secure on the property on a rotating schedule. Escort released employees off the property as well as any other trespassers.
Investigation – Respond to any alerts of suspicious activity. If a person is under suspicion of criminal activity, secure the environment and person, and report to the local authorities. Perform other related duties as assigned.
Reporting – Must be able to write concise and detailed incident reports and follow-up reports. All reports will be in digital, utilizing your smartphone.
Uniform
Pono will provide you with a branded uniform shirt, for use on the job. Candidates must provide black Dickies-style or tactical pants (no jeans or spandex material), as well as black shoes, socks and belts.
Requirements
– High school diploma or equivalent is required
– Security guard training certification preferred
– Must own a serviceable modern smartphone
– Must have a reliable source of transportation
– Must have excellent customer service skills and a desire to excel in your position
– Physically able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand or sit for long periods, and detain an individual if necessary
Schedule
Variety
We expect you to fulfill your scheduled shifts faithfully, and only accept those shifts which you can complete. While these hours are currently the only shifts available, please still apply if you are interested in working with us. Be sure to note what sort of locations and shifts you might prefer, and we will retain your application in case something else becomes available.
