The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) is part of a Department of Defense (DoD) Field Activity called the Defense Human Resources Activity (DHRA). DMDC supports major programs and initiatives within the DoD. DMDC maintains personnel, manpower, training, and security data for the DoD. DMDC is the DoD enterprise-wide provider of Human Resource IT services and products leveraging extensive human resource focused data assets.

DMDC data assets enable execution of numerous missions within and outside the DoD; to include benefit eligibility, identity management, personnel security, physical security, and other personnel related services. DMDC’s strategic vision is to securely support the vastly expanding HR related mission represented in emerging areas and those which will undergo HR reform initiatives. DMDC maintains the central and authoritative store of personnel, manpower, training, and security data for the DoD.

The DevSecOps Lead Architect will help to design, implement, and support agile solutions and processes leveraged by a large number of applications hosted in DMDC’s environments. This position plays a vital role in strategic IT projects to bring distinctive strategies around emerging technologies to support innovation initiatives across DMDC’s enterprise:

Develop application security architecture, design, roadmap, and controls for complex security projects.
• Provides strategic direction and guidance to the application development and security architecture and engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with all security policies and that information and systems are secure.
• Oversees technology security risk assessments and compliance audits.
• May lead a small team of Security Engineers.
• Other duties as assigned.

Working Environment:

• Flexible 8×5 (Monday-Friday) (24×7 on-call) work schedule 24-hour X 7 support

Minimum Requirements:

• Active and current Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Complete Pre-Employment Drug Screening
• BA/BS degree in a STEM major or equivalent experience
• 10+ yrs of overall experience in Information Systems
• 8+ years’ experience in Security Engineering and Architecture Roles
• 5+ yrs of experience in Application Security, IAM, or Network Security
• 3+ yrs in Devops and secure CI/CD pipelines

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s degree in technical field
• Experience with two or more clouds, at least one of which must be AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with ServiceNow’s REST API.
• Possess foundational or higher ITIL certification.

DMDC is a geographically dispersed organization requiring IT support services in Seaside, CA, Travis AFB, CA, Columbus, Ohio (OH), Fort Knox, Kentucky (KY), San Antonio, Texas (TX), Phoenix, Arizona, the National Capitol Region (NCR), Fort Belvoir, Virginia (VA), Robins AFB, Georgia (GA), Kaiserslautern, Germany (DMDC Europe), Yokota, Japan (DMDC Pacific), and Pyeongtaek, Korea (DMDC Asia). DMDC also supports a large remote workforce dispersed across the United States (U.S.) and OCONUS. *THIS POSITION IS CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD*. This is a key personnel role and subject to Government approval based on evaluation of qualifications.

$146,000 – $234,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
