This position is responsible for the breadth of assurance functions for CNS Pantex, with ownership of Contractor Assurance functions (Issues Management, Feedback & Improvement) as well as Independent Assessments, and Risk Management functions. The three functional areas present significant opportunity for improved integration, coordination, and performance. This position is responsible for enhancing these areas and improving the essential overall assurance functions in support of our Performance Excellence goals in enabling the CNS mission. Current state of these functional areas requires dedicated and strong leadership to improve performance such as: enhanced performance feedback/trending for informed management action; improved root cause analysis efforts; continued deployment of an integrated assurance system (TOPIC); execution of independent assessments; elevating risk management to the next level of maturity; etc. These improvement efforts, along with opportunities to integrate functionality across the current four functions, form a basis of opportunity to restructure the functions under a more efficient organizational model. The incumbent is to have demonstrated experience in successfully leading organizational change and driving measured performance improvements.
The successful candidate will provide leadership, vision, direction and oversight to senior managers as well as support personnel. He/she will be responsible for maintaining safe working conditions and safety awareness, establishing goals, expectations, and priorities and integrating work within the supervised organization.
Provides guidance to ensure procedural and/or legal obligations are followed and ensures deliverables are successfully completed, verified, and meet stakeholder including customer expectations, federal, state, and industry codes, and standards. Handles all personnel matters associated with the work group. Makes hiring recommendations, evaluates performance, coaches and counsels, rewards and corrects employees, as appropriate, and trains and develops staff. Develops, reviews, and/or approves documents required to meet customer needs within the organization. Will be required to provide and/or prepare technical presentations and reports.
Interprets and implements policy for employees in the work group. The successful candidate will 1) ensure staffing needs are conveyed; 2) evaluate and provide input on performance reviews, promotions, and merits; 3) ensure the training requirements and professional development necessary to meet the requirements of the organization are identified. The candidate will possess demonstrated outstanding interpersonal skills, with the ability to energize, organize, and lead personnel.
Preferred Education & Experience: Master’s degree in Engineering (from an ABET- accredited institution), Business, orrelated discipline plus a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, with a minimum of 10 years management experience.
Requires skills in effective integration, systems thinking, planning, writing, organization, communication, general andcontract-specific compliance, personnel management, budget management. Must be computer literate and have goodworking knowledge of software tools that support data analytics, metric development, and risk management.
Requires knowledge of the functional areas of Contractor Assurance (Issues Management, Causal Analysis, Feedback & Improvement), Independent Assessments, and Risk Management. Preferred experience in:
Knowledge of and past success with Pantex business and operations support, resources, practices, processes, and policies needed to solve problems and accomplish work is desirable.
