Placement Range: $18.50 – $20.00
General Description:
The Accounting Specialist for Cultural Programs is responsible for carrying out a variety of essential administrative, accounting, record-keeping, and clerical duties in support of the Director of Cultural Programs and the Department of Cultural Programs. This position requires attention to detail and independent judgement with an understanding of bookkeeping/financial procedures and terminology, and customer service principles. The Department of Cultural Programs administers and supports events and activities that take place in OCCC’s performing arts theaters, outdoor venues, and art gallery.
Minimum Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree in accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related field.
Two years’ full time work experience in an office administrative or management role, that included significant involvement in accounting/bookkeeping and clerical support.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Proficient to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, including Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work independently on assigned duties
Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of priorities while meeting deadlines
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
Strong math calculation skills
Strong critical thinking, creative problem-solving, and analytical abilities
Able to work in a confidential and professional manner
Exceptional organizational and time management skills
Must be punctual and reliable.
