General Description:
The Student Business Center Supervisor is responsible for the management of accounting and business lab operations, tutoring students, hiring/termination of lab tutors, supervision of lab tutors, managing budget for STEP and TAP tutors, schedule coordination, and working with faculty in support of all accounting, economics, finance and other business courses.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Associate’s degree in business with a minimum of 6 hours in accounting.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Ability and willingness to become proficient with accounting computer software.
Ability to effectively communicate concepts and ideas to students.
Ability to work in a confidential and professional manner.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: The person in this position may occasionally exert up to 10 pounds of force to grasp, lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
This position requires the person to frequently communicate with and listen to students, faculty, and staff to perform the essential functions of the position. Must be able to exchange accurate information in various situations.
This position requires the person to operate a computer and other office machinery to perform the essential functions of the position.
This position requires the person to operate equipment that involves repetitive motions of hands and wrists.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
This position requires the person to judge, observe and assess the accuracy, neatness, thoroughness of work assigned or to make general observations.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
This position performs the essential functions in an indoor lab, classroom, and/or office setting.

40 hours per week. Work schedule will vary depending on the needs of the Student Business Center. Some evenings and weekends will be required.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):
Supervise Accounting/Business Lab Tutors.
Manage STEP and TAP budgets.
Coordinate tutorial coverage of the lab.
Administer the lab.
Collaborate with faculty and staff to build awareness and business continuity in support accounting, business, economics and other BIT courses.
Assist students with assigned accounting/business homework exercises, problems, and practice sheets.
Assist accounting/Business students with the operation of the computers for the computer assisted instruction and assigned computer homework.
Collaborate with Student Computer Center to provide additional resources and support for students.
Ensure a conducive learning environment.
Develop innovative learning solutions in support of student success
Track the number of students that utilize the lab in order to proactively address student needs versus college and department resources.
Ensure accuracy on lab web page.
Manage social media accounts to provide accurate information to students.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
