General Description:
A faculty member at Oklahoma City Community College has the primary responsibility of instruction. Secondary responsibilities include supporting the integrity of curricula, encouraging student success, and promoting the mission of the academic division to which the faculty member belongs as well as the College as a whole.

Minimum Education/Experience:
Master’s degree in graphic communications, graphic design, animation, interactive media design, game design, or closely related field
and/or
5 years industry experience and proficiency in the Adobe suite programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign and knowledge of digital photography.
Experience teaching graphic communications, graphic design, animation, interactive media design, game design, or a directly related subject at the secondary level or higher.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Teaching and/or work experience in graphic communications, graphic design, or closely related field.
Mastery using the Adobe Suite.
Experience with Social Media.
Positive human relations and communication skills.
Ability to work with a team.
Supportive of competency-based instructional system.Available to teach day and evening classes. Ability to instruct in-person as well as online. Ability to instruct area high school students enrolled in concurrent courses.
Ability and willingness to stay current in advances in graphic communications, graphic design curriculum and practices.
Ability to relate and interact with graphic communications, graphic design communities and professionals.
Ability and willingness to stay current in advances in Animation, Interactive Media Design, Multimedia, Game Design curriculum, and practices.

Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
1. GENERAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
2. PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:
Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which one must convey detailed or important spoken information or instructions to others.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and make fine discrimination in sound.
Repetitive Motions: Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
3. VISUAL ACUITY:
Requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as but not limited to: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; expansive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly of fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes.
4. WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical office environment; this position is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in responsive web design.
Knowledge and experience in the use of Mac computers.
Work experience in animation or game design or game development.
Experience teaching Animation, Interactive Media Design, Multimedia, Game Design, or a directly related subject at the secondary level or higher.
Work Hours:
This is a full-time position. Teaching schedules can include online, days, nights and/or weekends. Required institutional activities (other than attendance at commencement) usually occur in the classic eight-to-five Monday through Friday work week. Position may require candidate to teach concurrent students at local area high schools.

Job Duties (Duties Assignment Statement):
A faculty member is primarily responsible for supporting student learning by providing quality instruction in courses that the faculty member and the dean agree will be taught. Quality instruction includes clear course objectives, prepared and relevant class activities, effective and understandable presentations of learning materials, fair and understandable grading practices, timely responses to students, and a positive atmosphere in the classroom.
In addition to the primary responsibility for supporting student learning, a faculty member is expected to:
Be available to students by maintaining posted office hours.
Serve as an academic advisor.
Managing program and course curricula by helping select textbooks, evaluating learning materials, and writing course syllabi.
Manage a flexible schedule to meet program and department needs.
Contribute to developing, implementing, and evaluating approved academic programs and developing new academic programs to meet community needs.
Fulfill course, program, and department goals and objectives.
Participate in the assessment of student learning outcomes for the program and/or department.
Respond in a timely fashion to information requests from program, division, and college administrators.
Attend department, division, and college meetings.
Acquire new knowledge and skills appropriate for the academic discipline.
Maintain license or professional certification specific to program requirements.
Develop and implement a professional development plan.
Participate in on-campus staff development opportunities.
Participate in mutually agreed upon committees.
Satisfy objectives for mutually agreed upon special assignments.
Participate in faculty-related activities that attract and retain students.
Support the College’s vision, mission, goals, and priorities.

Contribute to a safe educational & working environment.
Adhere to established safety and health procedures and practices for the purpose of providing injury and illness prevention for self and others.
Complete quarterly health and safety training pursuant to OCCC’s established safety and health procedures and practices.
Participate in all applicable OCCC emergency, evacuation, shelter in place drills, and be prepared to take action and assist others in taking appropriate action should a health or safety emergency occur.
