Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost
Ohio University
Ohio University
(“OHIO”) invites nominations and applications for the position of Executive Vice President of Academic Affairs and Provost
(EVPP).
Ohio University presents an unmatched opportunity for an enterprising, service-oriented, forward-thinking academic leader to
guide a passionate University community ready to leverage its momentum in enrollment, research, and program development to take the next big
leap. The next EVPP will enjoy the greatest possible challenge – not a long list of problems that need to be fixed but an environment
rich with talent and opportunities that need to be uplifted, directed, and inspired toward an audacious vision. OHIO’s provost will
enjoy the support of a president who has served for decades in academic leadership across diverse public institutions and is ready to
partner to move the University forward.
This opportunity invites candidates who seek to make a real difference – in the lives
of students, in the trajectory of a state in the heart of America, in the resurgence of the nation’s 13-state Appalachian region, and
in the restoration of respect for the value that higher education can and must deliver to the world, now and forever.
The new EVPP
will be a strong leader and mentor who will take advantage of the opportunity to be part of the new strategic planning process from the
ground up. They will collaborate with new student affairs leadership to further the role of the academic units within institutional student
success efforts. The new EVPP will ensure that academic program infrastructure is in place to maintain recently achieved R1 status and to
continue to grow the research portfolio of the institution. They will bring an inclusive leadership style and work with the new president
and her Cabinet as a partner to foster a culture of trust, openness, transparency, experimentation, and innovation. They will lead, support,
and celebrate interdisciplinary programs and opportunities and they will be instrumental in serving the surrounding communities.
OHIO
is the oldest public university in the state, with a total enrollment of more than 28,300 students. The student body includes students from
all 88 Ohio counties, every state in the nation, and more than 100 countries. Athens, the location of Ohio University’s residential
campus, is regularly named one of America’s Best College Towns and it is easy to see why. Athens is big enough to keep students, staff
and faculty entertained and on the go, yet small enough to always feel comfy and close-knit.

leadership opportunity, including the minimum qualifications and desired experiences and attributes, can be found in the position profile
