General Summary
The Director of Clinical Education (DCE) is responsible for curriculum, instruction, and will be an integral part of the student educational experience. The Director will provide engaged instruction; develop curricula; conduct program, course, and student outcomes assessment; and advise and support students. The Director will engage in the professional work to advance the College’s mission by participating in institutional advancement, professional development, and community service in the pursuit of excellence. The Director plans and coordinates the clinical education for the Respiratory Therapy Program by performing the following duties:
Specific Position Duties
1. Maintains up-to-date knowledge in the teaching field, board polices and accreditation expectations
2. Assist in the Planning, management and evaluation of all aspects of the program
3. Assist in developing policies and procedures for the Respiratory Therapy program
4. Oversees clinical education, and industry alignment and partnerships.
5. Assists the Director of Respiratory in the routine, day-to-day operations of the department
6. Assists the Director with all required reports and data in a timely manner, and all approval and accrediting bodies
7. Maintains effective relationships with professional counterparts throughout the college and the community
8. Maintains up to date knowledge related to student advisement on degree plans and degree applications in order to comply with completion requirements
9. Manges recruiting, marketing and outreach
10. Actively participates in college functions and events, engages in community service
11. Ensure compliance with instruction practices
12. Manage all day to day operations of the program
13. Support the program in core program outcome documentation and assist in assessment
14. Assist with curricular development and changes in collaboration with the Director and Faculty
15. Attend meetings as scheduled
16. Attend all completion ceremonies for Odessa college and nursing programs
17. Perform other duties as reasonably requested
