The Senior Accountant General Accounting is a leadership position is responsible for accounting; analysis and operations support related accounting and reporting activities for Novartis Gene Therapies. This role will work closely with broader Accounting and Reporting team to ensure accurate month end reporting, controls compliance, coordination of close process and preparation of materials for review of financials with management. Works between site personnel, Division and Group FRA, Treasury, US Tax and the NGSC in Mexico with respect to general accounting and reporting services.
Your Key Responsibilities:
• Contribute to month-end financial closing and reporting process for Novartis Gene Therapies
• Ensure all key topics are raised proactively and aligned with stakeholders to minimize surprises
• Account reconciliation and analysis
• Preparation of trend and other analysis to support review of Balance Sheet and Income Statement for month end reporting.
• Work closely and coordinate with broader Accounting and Reporting team, AR, AP, Fixed Assets Intercompany etc. for balance sheet analysis for Month End close, periodic reviews with management and to support audits
• Ensure all processes performed comply with Novartis standards and policies (i.e. global processes, Novartis Accounting Manual, Novartis Financial Controls Manual, Management Authorization Levels, etc.)
• Ensure accounting policies, processes and operating procedures are clearly defined, in line with Group standards, up to date and documented
• Resolve accounting related issues as required

Role Requirements
Essential Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting and/or finance
• 3+ years of Accounting / Financial experience, with in-depth functional expertise
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in accounting & reporting focused roles
• Excellent interpersonal skills; leadership exposure
• Strong communications skills
Desirable Requirements:
• MBA
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA), CMA, or Chartered Accountant a plus

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $69,300.00 and $103,900.00 / year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
