As an Operational Excellence Specialist, you will lead all site related operational excellence activities. This role supports all site functions and collaborates with other sites within the Novartis network. The ideal candidate will drive improvement initiatives and support site leadership in best practices and activities to ensure smooth change processes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the deployment of Data Management with focus on metrics, dashboards, operating mechanisms, site agendas and Tier meetings.
• Communicates Operational Excellence information/news to site management, staff, and employees.
• Partner and collaborate with leaders to identify continuous improvement opportunities and lead the implementation of Kaizen events.
• The ability to develop process maps and drive key actions to closure.
• Develop, maintain, and report operational excellence effectiveness measures and metrics, including training completion and effectiveness.
• Design and develop effective improvement programs and lead implementation across the functions at the site.
Additional Notes:
• This role is Monday-Friday day shift located on-site at our Millburn, NJ location.

Role Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Pharmacy, Pharmaceutical Technology, Chemistry or relevant experience in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years’ work experience in lean pharmaceutical based GMP manufacturing operations.
• In-depth knowledge of FDA regulations & GMP systems and experience providing process support in a highly regulated or pharmaceutical facility.
• Applied knowledge of value stream mapping, tier structures, six-sigma, lean and operational excellence tools in creating efficient and high-quality processes and end products.
• Ability to facilitate problem solving, work with the shop floor and collaborate with multiple functions for process improvement initiatives.
• Excellent project management, oral and written communication skills
• Strong Microsoft Office Suite skills
Desirable Requirements:
• Previous Radio pharma experience a plus
• Six-sigma green belt or black belt preferred

Pay transparency statement: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $88,000 and $132,000 a year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/23 through 12/31/23 fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
