The Novartis People & Organization (P&O) team is seeking a new Global P&O (HR) Business Partner who will champion the People and Organization agenda by advising, coaching and influencing leadership teams to help implement the near and longer-term business strategy and plans. As a strategic business advisor and coach, the Business Partner applies P&O consulting skills with data driven and external market insights to deliver an organizational aligned workforce strategy with talent interventions that span diversity and inclusion; talent management; organization design and effectiveness; culture; transformation and change; and employee experience. In addition, Business Partners liaise with People Partner teams on local change delivery and complex or high-profile P&O cases.
What you will be doing:
Client Support
•Directly influence the business strategy and translate the Global strategy and functional plans to design and implement people and organizational interventions that support the vision while applying data driven and external insights with P&O metrics (e.g., headcount, turnover, workforce skills, D&I, reporting, budget, etc.) to deliver business outcomes with impact.
•Develop an organizational design / plan for client groups by utilizing organizational diagnostics.
•Hold the knowledge and outlook for the 3-5 year business plans. Establish strategic workforce plans with leaders and develop organization design efficiencies to enable the long-term business strategy.
•Utilize consulting skills to influence, coach and provide feedback to leaders at all levels, ensuring our core values are lived every day and empower individual growth.
•Utilize personal impact and credibility to influence business leaders and key decision makers.
Culture
•Build an inclusive environment for the team to collaborate, develop trust, bring their best selves to work and work in a safe space to speak up.
•Coach leaders on team priorities and objectives linked to purpose and strategy, helping collaborate with other teams, manage across the matrix, remove obstacles and overcome silos.

•Drive the cultural agenda across all levels of client groups.
•Enhance leadership capabilities through coaching and drive client leadership teams to set up a solid governance structure, operating models and culture to enable and fulfil strategic business objectives.
•Lead the cultural change agenda in partnership with People Partners across all levels of the client groups.
•Partner with the P&O Leadership Team and client leadership teams to facilitate, support and maintain a high performing and ethical culture.
Employee Relations & Policies
•Work with local People Partner teams to mediate and resolve complex employee relations issues at senior leadership level; conduct thorough and objective investigations when necessary.
Learning
•Promote organizational learning and knowledge sharing across teams.
Org Development & Capabilities
•Act as a diplomat, negotiator and coach to align the agendas of the business, NBS and the P&O function.
•Actively participate in complex, enterprise P&O projects or initiatives; ensure local business representation and alignment.
•Advise business leaders and functional teams on strategic and operational execution, including team effectiveness, change management, organizational design, performance management, talent, retention and engagement.
•Lead global / enterprise-wide P&O projects and ensure consistent and effective implementation across Novartis.
P&O Community Contributions
•Contribute actively to the P&O community and network. Act as a leader and collaborate with internal and external partners building P&O thought leadership.
Performance Management
•Instigate career and development conversations with business leaders, understanding aspirations, skills and the capabilities required.
Talent Management
•Develop organizational plans and designs for client groups by utilizing organizational diagnostics.
•Drive the talent agenda in partnership with the business, establishing quality succession planning for critical positions and business value roles, development plans of key talent and talent strategy to build the leadership pipeline.
•Identify required critical capabilities for the future and establish plans to meet capability gaps at the organization and individual level.
•Ensure critical positions are staffed by best-in-class candidates.

12+ years minimum as an HR Business Partner supporting globally matrixed client groups. Pharmaceutical experience strong preferred.

The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $174,400.00 and $261,600.00 per year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/24 through 12/31/24, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
